Our kitchen is the heart of our home—and my office. As a cookbook author, food stylist, and co-founder of Evergreen Kitchen, I spend most of my days in the kitchen developing and testing recipes. When my husband and I bought our century-old home, it was listed “As Is Where Is”—in other words, a total fixer-upper. Most expected it to be bulldozed, but we saw its potential and spent years restoring it. I knew the new kitchen had to be both functional and beautiful, honouring its history while fitting our modern lifestyle.
Enter the Lacanche range. It was my dream stove. After years of admiring Lacanche ranges, we finally took the plunge and chose the 44-inch Savigny model in Ivory. It was our big splurge, but worth every penny.
The Lacanche range isn’t just stunning—it’s a workhorse. The cooktop and dual ovens are in constant use, whether I’m simmering sauces, baking cookies, or filming recipe tutorials. I customized it with two electric convection ovens, which are perfect for my baking needs. And when the workday ends, the range keeps going! My young family then piles into the kitchen and it’s time to make dinner. We’ve used the accessories more than we initially expected. Every weekend we use the flat griddle top to make pancakes for the kids—and often the grandparents too! It’s a tradition we hope to continue as our kids grow.
Speaking of family, that’s a bit like how the team at The French Barn feels. They made the entire process so seamless. With so many customization options, I had a lot of questions, but they were patient and incredibly helpful, guiding me to choose the perfect setup for my busy kitchen. From selecting the model to answering installation/maintenance questions, they were there every step of the way—and I know they’ll always be there if I need them.
Now, every time I walk into the kitchen, I feel a sense of pride and joy. The Lacanche range is at the center of it all—beautiful, hardworking, and built to last. One of our goals during our home restoration was to do things the “right” way—favoring quality and craftsmanship that would stand the test of time. And the Lacanche range does exactly that.
I’m so grateful for the team at The French Barn for helping us choose a range that fits our lifestyle so perfectly. It cooks like a dream. Thank you, thank you!
